First Impression Friday: Adore Me.com

image2.JPG

Hello lovelies! I'm here with something brand new for you guys! I signed up for yet another monthly subscription. This time it's for lingerie! ;)

I first heard about Adore Me about a year or two ago. It's a monthly subscription just like my Ipsy bag. I have a new post on that coming soon actually! Adore Me is primarily a lingerie service but they do offer other things such as pajamas and work out gear as well.

So how does it work? First of all, it's free to sign up! When you make your account they have a timer that starts counting down saying that if you purchase in the time limit, you get your first set for $19.99 with free shipping. It's nothing more than a ploy to rush you into making a purchase. I made my first order MONTHS after making my account and I still received a discount.

There's two different ways to pay. You can choose the pay as you go option or the VIP membership option. Pay as you go means you pay the full price of the item at checkout and you don't get any benefits.

I got the VIP monthly membership. There are a lot of great benefits you get such as a personalized showroom every month, free shipping and exchanges for every set, VIP sales,  BOGO offers, and $10 off any set at any time.

Okay let's talk about what I got!

I ordered the Cinda Contour Plus. It was a beautiful blue set! I fell in love with the color first. I ordered my regular bra size of 44DD and a 3X bikini panty. Most sets come with different options for the underwear. There are bikinis, thongs, and hipsters.

The Cinda Contour set retails for $49.95 but I got my first matching bra and panty set for $24.95 because I signed up for the VIP Membership. My order shipped within two days and I received it in about 5-7 days.

image1.JPG
This the packaging. No heavy boxes or extra padding. The box did come a little beat up but it didn't damage anything inside.

Here's what it looks like. The link to the set can be found here.

I actually really enjoyed this set. The bra did fit a little too snug but in no way was it uncomfortable. I'd much rather have a bra that was too snug than one that was too big. I think I'll go up a size next time though just to be safe.

This a monthly subscription so I will be posting more about Adore Me in the future.

Until next time lovelies!

My Hair Journey: Marley Twists

My sister and I have officially decided to do protective styling on our hair for next few months in an attempt to reach our hair goals. Protective styles are any hair styles in which your natural hair is braided or lifted up off of your shoulders in an attempt to prevent breakage or any damage to your hair. Protective styles include but are not limited to buns, twists, braids, weaves, and bantu knots.

The protective style I chose was Marley twists. I got mid back length Marley twists almost a month ago and I love them!

I used the Cuban twist brand with ombre affect. I have dark roots that fade into a deep red shade. I originally purchased 10 packs of hair but I only used 6 packs.

image1.JPG

It took about 4 hours to complete and it turned out perfectly. I'm really happy with them!

I had originally planned to keep them in for a month but I hadn't even realized three weeks had already passed. I think I'll keep them in for a little longer.

image2.JPG

After this, I'm planning to do a perm rod set and then transfer straight into my first sew in! I'm so excited!

Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures with them so these are the only two that I have.

Until next time lovelies!

Ipsy Glam Bag: October

It's Ipsy time! I know I haven't been doing my Ipsy glam bag reviews but I'm getting back to it. I am still receiving them. I just haven't shared them with you guys. Don't worry though! It's glam time!

image1.JPG Isn't it adorable?!

The month's makeup bag is designed by Valfre. It's a pastel pink and features little ghosts, a spell book, an ouija board and other adorable things.

Every month Ipsy's glam bags have a different theme. This month is Halloween themed of course. It's time to get spooky!

Let's see what I got!

  • Trust Fund Beauty 'Gimme Good Face' face primer - Price unknown
  • pur-lisse Daily Lip Nourisher - $16
  • tre'Stique Matte Lip Crayon - $28
  • Kat Von D Tatto Liner - $20
  • Lottie London Perfectly Precise eye shadow brush - price unknown
Overall Opinion: This month's products look pretty good! I'm really excited about the eyeliner. I love eyeliner! It's one of my favorite types of makeup. I have enough eye brushes for right now so I don't think I'll get much use out of that.

Here's how to get your own glam bag!
  1. Go to www.ipsy.com
  2.  Sign up for the monthly glam bag using my referral code. It's only $10 a month.
  3. Take the style quiz
  4. Wait for your next glam bag!

LOTM: 10 Best Beyonce Quotes

  1. "I truly believe that women should be financially independent from their men. And let's face it, money gives men the power to run the show. It gives men the power to define value. They define what's sexy. And men define what's feminine. It's ridiculous."

BH Cosmetics: First Impression Friday

Hi loves! I recently made a purchase with a new company called Bh Cosmetics. It was my first time ordering from this company so I'm going to do a quick review for you guys!

I first heard about Bh Cosmetics about a year ago. They have lots of beautiful palettes and makeup brush sets and I couldn't wait to order from them. I purchased the Take Me to Brazil palette, the 10 piece Sculpt and Blend brush set, a glitter eyeliner in the color Jem and a black gel eyeliner in the shade Onyx. I placed my order on Friday June 24th an I received my order that following Monday. I hadn't even known my order had shipped! Bh Cosmetics got major points from me for that!

It arrived in a plain white box. Nothing fancy. My sister and I opened the package together and we were both super excited! I was so happy but I did have some concerns.

First of all, the brushes smelled like paint. It was awful! It wasn't even the full brush with the handles, just the bristles. Actually now that I think about it, the palette smelled like paint too! It wasn't as strong as the brushes but it was definitely there. I decided to wash my brushes before I used them to get rid of the smell and it worked! The palette's smell faded away over time.

Let me tell you, these are the softest brushes ever! The first time I used them I felt like I was giving my face a massage! I'm already planning to buy another brush set from Bh Cosmetics since I love these brushes so much!

Take Me To Brazil Eyeshadow Palette
The palette was a different story. I did some swatches and I wasn't impressed with the color payoff on some shades. I was especially looking forward to 3 shades in particular, red, yellow and orange because I wanted to try out a sunset look involving those colors. I was so disappointed because I couldn't get any pigment from the colors originally. I tried about three times before I gave up. It took awhile before I picked the palette back up again. Since then I've had pretty good luck dealing with the colors. I haven't used them all yet but I'm really starting to enjoy the palette.

Overall, I really enjoyed purchasing from Bh Cosmetics and I would happily purchase from them again!

Reb Dolls: First Impression Friday

So hey loves! I recently made a purchase with a new company called Reb Dolls. They are an online fashion boutique for sizes 0-32. I believe Reb Dolls is based out of New Jersey but I'm not entirely sure. At least that's where my order shipped from.

I first came across the site a couple of weeks ago. I think I may have heard about it from Instagram. I had been browsing the site for about 20 minutes when I saw a cute two piece set called the Missed Calls skater set. Here's a link to the set. Isn't it cute? It comes in two main colors, pink and yellow. I caught it on sale but it normally retails for about $35.

I got the pink set (pictured above) and I really like it. One thing I was worried about was long the crop top would be. I've never worn a crop top before so I was pretty nervous. Luckily for me, this set has a longer top. It's not like the smaller ones you normally see in stores and I'm grateful for that.

So here's the packaging. Simple black plastic bag with the company name on the side.

I tried it on immediately and I loved the fit! The skirt was long enough to hit my knees so I don't have to worry about it being too short and riding up. The material is really lightweight and perfect for summer.

One of the things I loved is that it had pockets! How cool is that?!

I haven't worn it out yet but I'm really looking forward to it! So what do you guys think? Like it? Love it? Hate it? Let me know in the comments or tweet me with what you think.

Until next time, bye guys!

All About My Piercings! Two Week Update!

Hey loves! So today I'm bringing you a post on my new piercings! I was going to post this last week but I had already done the Ipsy post so I decided to push it back an extra week. So here it goes!

Exactly two weeks ago, my sister and I got our nipples pierced. Our co-worker suggested we have a tattoo party and invite some other co-workers so we could make it more fun. There was drinks, food and music and it was actually really nice.

My sister went first and she said she enjoyed the feeling. To her, it was more pleasurable than painful. Mine was more pain than pleasure. I did my right nipple first and that one hurt the most. On a scale from 1-10 it was about a 6. The left one was much easier. It was more like a 3. I didn't scream but I definitely gave some push back.

The very next day when I was at work, I realized one of the balls on my right nipple piercing fell out and I had lost it. Since I had just gotten to work and I had a training immediately after work, I wasn't able to get a replacement ball. When I got home late that night, I realized my jewelry had slide back through the piercing and was hanging out of only one side. I panicked and had to push the jewelry back through. It didn't hurt but because the piercing was so new I was afraid I would bleed out. Luckily, I didn't suffer much at all and was able to slip it right through without too much of a problem.

As the days went on, I made sure to always cover that part of the jewelry with a band-aid to avoid the jewelry slipping through again. For the most part, the healing process was smooth. My right nipple, the one that put up a fight when it was pierced and had issues with the jewelry, took longer to heal but it's doing better now.

Now that it's been a couple of weeks, I can go back to sleeping on my chest without any discomfort. I don't have to wear the band-aids on them all the day. I am still incredibly cautious when putting on shirts, bras, and just general body movement. I have to be extra careful when showering because I can't use my loofah. Other than that, I really like my piercings. I honestly can't wait until I can change my jewelry though. I'm a little scared to do it myself so maybe I can get my piercer to do it for me lol!

People have been asking me if I want to get more piercings but i'm not currently interested in anything else. I have one tattoo and one piercing and that's enough for me.

So that's about it for me today! I'll probably do another update in a few more weeks or whenever I change my jewelry. I've seen a couple of sites that have a great selection of nipple jewelry so I'm looking forward to getting something new!

Thanks for reading guys! See ya!

Ipsy Glam Bag: June 2016

Okay so if you've been following my blog for awhile, you remember last summer when I tried out the Ipsy makeup subscription. If you're unfamiliar with Ipsy or those posts, you can check out the post in which I explained what Ipsy here.

Overall, I felt that my experience with the company was average. I wasn't impressed nor was I disappointed. I ended my subscription with the company simply because I took a financial hit last August and I had to cut back on a lot of stuff including my Spotify subscription. Ipsy still sent me emails every now and then but I finally decided to resubscribe in late May.

So since I received my glam bag yesterday, let's get right to the review!

So here's what I got: Colourpop Cosmetics Creme Gel Eyeliner in the shade Swerve, Urban Decay eye shadow in Lounge, Frank Body Original Coffee Scrub, Hey Honey 24/7 Day & Night Revitalizing Cream and Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Cheeks blush in Peach Pink. Ipsy always includes one full size product. This month's full size product was the coffee scrub.

Colourpop Cosmetics Creme Gel Eyeliner: $5 full size
Urban Decay eye shadow: $20 full size
Frank Body Original Coffee Scrub: $14.95 fill size
Hey Honey 24/7 Day & Night Revitalizing Cream: $38 full size
Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Cheeks blush in Peach Pink: $23 full size

Honest Opinion: I like this month's products. I'm a big fan of Urban Decay so I'm interested in trying out the eye shadow although the shade is strange. I've never tried a coffee scrub before so I like that product. I think this might be the most expensive products I've received from Ipsy totaling up to over $100 full price. I really can't wait to try out all of these products!

Overall Rating: 4/5

Here's how to get your own glam bag!

  1. Go to www.ipsy.com
  2. Sign up for the monthly glam bag using my referral code. It's only $10!
  3. Take the style quiz
  4. Wait for your next glam bag!
It should normally arrive around the 15th of every month.

Current State of the Union

I've done these posts quite a few times but then I realized you guys probably have no idea what I'm talking about lol! It's basically a diary of some sort. More like a condensed version. It's simply a record of the good and bad things that happen. Good things are what's 'in', bad things are what's 'out'. I'll be posting it either the last day of the month or the first day of the month depending on how I feel and if I've already made too many posts that month. Here's the Current State of the Union for May:

Lime Crime Lipstick Review

Hi ladybugs!

UPDATE: I made this post in late February so my statements about the sale may not be up to date.

Lime Crime

So if you know anything about lipstick, you've heard about Lime Crime. If you Google them or search on Youtube, you'll find tons of blogger reviews both positive and negative. There's been tons of bad press about the online beauty company but it would take FOREVER for me to go through all of it. Also, that's not the point of this post! :)

I first heard about Lime Crime years ago before I was into makeup but this was my first time purchasing from the company. I placed my order on Valentine's Day since they were having a free shipping deal on their site. I ordered two lipsticks that I had been eyeing for a couple of weeks. My sister also placed an order at the same time.

On their website right now they are having a huge sale on numerous Velvetines, Perlees and Unicorn Lipsticks. It's about mid March now but this sale has been going on for over a month! These colors are being discontinued so this is basically your last chance to get them before they disappear! The sale will go on until all of the colors are completely out of stock. They will not be restocked!

One of the colors I got was on sale so I ended up paying $8 instead of $18 which is full price. Great deal right?!

Okay so on to the review! I ordered Mirage, a Perlee, and Styletto, a Unicorn Lipstick. My total came up to exactly $26 with free shipping. Shipping time was average, about 7-10 business days.

Here is the inside of the package they came in! It's a plain white outside but don't you just love the floral inside?! And the pink packing paper is adorable!

Here are my two colors! Mirage which is one of their "Perlees" and Styletto which is one of the Unicorn Lipsticks. Aren't the boxes so cute?!

Styletto is a pure black lipstick and Mirage is a pearly pink shade. There's not much to say about Styletto. It's a simple black lipstick. However, I hate Mirage. It's such a pale pasty color. When applying, it's a bit grainy and it doesn't spread well. After awhile, it feels smoother but it makes my lips look sickly. Here's a picture of Youtuber Ellarie wearing three of Lime Crime's perlee's.
 Picture pulled from her Instagram.

We have similar skin tones and I based my purchase on the way it looked on her. It looked nothing like this! It's not nearly as pigmented as it appears here!

My sister was also very disappointed with her orders as well. For the price they charge and the numerous scandals that they have been through, I would never buy from this company again. I don't suggest any one else buy from them either!

Urban Decay Unboxing

Hello loves!

So I've been quite obsessed with Urban Decay lately. I had admired their products from afar for years but this time I decided to finally make a purchase. I ordered two of their 24/7 Liquid Eyeliner in the shades Woodstock and El Dorado.

I signed up for their loyalty program called UD Beauty Junkies. They have a point system that translates to perks as you make purchases or do other things on their site. I didn't have any intention to make numerous orders but one of the perks of being a UD Junkie is free shipping on all orders. That was the deciding factor for me.

At the time, they were offering a free sample of their Perversion Deluxe Mascara with every order. I don't wear mascara but it was free so hey, why not. I had added my items to my cart early in the week but I was waiting until I got paid in a few days before I officially placed the order. I ended up getting an email from UD with a code for a free sample of their All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. I was super exciting about that because that was a product I was looking to try out anyway. I placed my order immediately! It shipped next day and even came with a tracking code.

I received my package about 5 days later! Here it is!
Straight from the box.

A closer look!

These are my two eyeliners! El Dorado and Woodstock.

My package was delivered by UPS and I spent all day peeking out the window every couple of minutes waiting for it come. It arrived in an adorable purple wrapping paper with my items tucked securely inside.

The eyeliners are very pigmented and I can't wait until I finally wear them!

Buy Or Buh-bye: NXY Liquid Suede Lipsticks

Hello lovelies! I'm back with my review on Nyx's Liquid Suede Lipsticks. I purchased two from the line to review for you guys so I hope you like it!

Okay so I've been in love with Nyx brand for a very long time. It's rare that I come across a Nyx item that I don't like and once again, I'm impressed! There's 13 total and I purchased two colors, Amethyst and Stone Fox.
From left to right, Tea & Cookies, Amethyst, Kitten Heels and Stone Fox.

Here's what they look like on me!

Amethyst is a bright purple and Stone Fox is a dark gray color. Stone Fox is a strange shade that can easily be mistaken for a bluish shade with the right lighting.

Nyx is an affordable brand of makeup and these lip creams retail for $7 on their website. What a great price!

The coverage is awesome! It's not a product that you need to apply multiple times. Normally, one coat is enough. Maybe two coats if necessary but never more than that. It's very smooth and glides on perfectly!

The lip creams are just that; creamy! After awhile they dry matte but they definitely don't dry out your lips! I did definitely have some product rub off later when i touched my mouth so that bothered me but not enough to be a problem.

One of my coworkers mistook Amethyst for Mac's Heroin. I don't think they are that close but they are somewhat similar.

Overall, I would most definitely recommend these to anyone! They are inexpensive and very pigmented.

Overall rating: 5/5
I would definitely buy these again!

2016 Goals

Now let me start off by saying I am not one for New Year Resolutions. I think they are useless and most people never accomplish any of them anyway. This year, I've decided to make a small list of goals I would like to accomplish this year.

Nothing too fancy, nothing that can't be easily accomplished but things I have been putting off doing for quite some time.

So here we go....

  • Wear makeup more frequently
As you guys know, I've been trying to get more into makeup lately and I've actually found some products that I love! I just don't wear it enough to justify all of the products I buy. Here's to hoping this changes!
  • Have an extensive lipstick collection
As of right now, I have about 13 lipsticks and glosses but I want more! I want endless!!! Then again, I need to buy a lipstick holder before I do anything. I already don't have a place for the ones that I have now lol!
  • Attend driving school
This is pretty self explanatory. I need to get my license this year. No more fooling around. It's go time.
  • Wear more dresses and skirts
Yeah girl, show off those thighs! For YEARS I have hidden my legs in jeans. I wear jeans year around. Even in the summer time. Sweating it out in jeans in 80 degree weather, yup that was me but not anymore! Thick thighs save lives, remember?
  • Get a second job
A goal I am looking to accomplish in the next few months seeing as how all of a sudden, my job lost the little bit of security I thought it had. I prefer a job in child care but anything to pay the bills right?
  • Buy more shoes!
I mean come on, what girl doesn't like shoes?
  • Revamp my entire wardrobe
Something else I'm currently working on. I've always dressed for comfort and never for fashion. I have tons of styles that I love but I don't dress that way. Well that's all going to change this year. Out with the old and in with the new.

So my loves, what are your goals for 2016? Comment below or tweet me at @Clefairy1_. See you next time!
